RWH Paper Wins Award

Jason Weck, MESc, P.Eng and President of RWH Engineering Inc. (RWH) in collaboration with Alper Turan, PHD, (Professor with American University in Dubai) recently co-authored a paper on the “Behavior of Two Diaphragm Wall Circular Shafts Subjected to Earth Pressures” which was presented at the DFI Conference in Dubai and received the best presentation award.  The compression rings presented in the paper were designed by RWH and constructed by HC Matcon Inc. in Ontario under stringent quality control requirements.  Using compression rings eliminates the need for internal bracing making them easier to excavate, cost effective and results in a reduced material footprint when compared to conventional strutted shafts.

If you have any engineering questions please call Jason Weck at 416-457-8313 or our new help line 1-855-FDN-SUST.

Following presenting at the conference Alper noted to Jason “The paper was extremely practical and useful to the audience. Your simplistic approach at design and execution is purely your advantage.”
